The book is only half as interesting as the author himself. He is both a Dayan and a State Judge, and a fascinating author of novels and seforim in his spare time.

Interesting, didn't know that.

I did find his slavery book (the name escapes me now) quite thought provoking.

He actually had a serial in the Mishpacha some years ago, essentially a sequel to Every Man A Slave. It was then published as a book.

I liked Aleph Shin/Ten Lost. I found it to be very creative, albeit fantastical. Agree that some parts wouldn't be very acceptable to a heimishe library, and I'm not talking about the continuous "bone-crushing" action that goes on.

At the risk of posting spoilers - suffice to say it is the most inventive Mossad plotting you could dream of, and Moshiach himself may or may not be involved in hand to hand martial arts combat.

Plus being invloved in almost every significant event in Jewish history since WW2, including Yossele Shuchmacher, Six Day War, and epes a famous spy swap between the US and Israel...  ;D ;D ;D

@chaimdasap Did you check Shanky's? That's where I bought it, 10 years ago. Manny's in Meah Shearim also oftentimes has old books.
yes shankys and mannys both sold out of it. i read this book many, many times, and it remains one of my favorite books jewish or not. And mind you, i have a library of over 6000 books in my house;) (we have the book there of course, but im in israel now.)
Every time i read it, i find myself just wishing it was reality. i would love to know more about the author, he has to be nothing less than a fascinating person!!

His books on slavery were titles Every Man a Slave, and the sequel was Gone West.

I heard that the author is an avid gun enthusiast and owns a gun collection. He talks about different guns throughout Alef Shin/Ten Lost.

TBH, he goes into rigorous detail throughout the book, not only regarding guns. All the martial arts moves, the exact names and models of the technological devices used, etc......
