Author Topic: Samsung Note8 Deal by Samsung not honored (Read 3046 times)

I purchased the deal a few months ago which included a $300 credit for sending in an older LG smartphone.
I purchased the old LG phone from an experienced Ebay seller with a 100% rating. The phone worked well with normal wear & tear.
Samsung rejected my phone as being below standard and charged my card $275. They also said they would not return the phone.
I complained to Chase as it was paid for on my INK card. No help.
I submitted a formal complaint to Samsung who rejected my appeal.
Copies of my emails with Samsung are attached.

What can I do?

Did you try Twitter or Facebook? Social Media is generally the best way to get your problems taken care of.

No issues with my ebay trade-in it seems.
What grade level phone did you buy? Link to the auction or pic of the phone?

An ebay seller with a few thousand transactions and a 99.6 approval rating is not sending a phone with a watermark for that listing.
I have no way to disprove their assertion as they will not return the phone

What's not true? That the water indicator is red? If he discloses that the indicator is red, why would he ship a phone that doesn't have an indicator that is red?

@Dan caught it . Under item specifics it stated water indicator red, at first look I did not notice it either, I guess it is a little sneaky the way the seller stated this, many buyers look at the title and big print and do not read the fine print, in this case I do not see anything you can do, sorry for your loss.
