Family history
« on: December 17, 2017, 10:55:53 PM »
Does anyone have any expirience writing  a family history? I would like to know if anyone has ever done such a thing themselves or hired someone to do it. I’m not exactly sure what I want, but basically to end up with a book that can be passed on to future generations. I’m sure there is a lot of work involved including interviewing the older family members and putting into book form.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while but never did anything about it, but being together with family over chanuka and seeing the older generation getting older finally have me the Push to do something about it.
Any advice is appreciated

I know someone who does a very good job. My brother-in-law just used her to interview his grandmother about her history and Holocaust experiences and write up a book, and she did a great job.

Nope. Probably depends on how many family members you want interviewed, how much research has to go in, etc.
