Posting this in the local Europe threads.... Pressburg is 3 hours drive from Prague

There is a new Kosher cafe in Pressburg/Bratislava, under Kedassia London supervision.

It's a 5 minutes walk from the Chasam Sofer and open Sunday to Thursday 10 am to 8 pm.

They can also prepare sandwiches or meals in advance for takeaway or cater meals for groups.

Call/Whatsapp +421-951-921746

And if anyone wants to stay the night in Pressburg there's a beautiful 5* hotel across the street from the Pressburg Hachnosas Orchim that often has points availability.
Grand Hotel River Park -  Part of Bonvoy

**I am posting this as public service but please note that I am affiliated with the restaurant

Planning a midweek trip to the area, as of now, have tickets booked JFK to prague that involve 5 hour layover with transferring from LHR to LCY. The plan was to do 2 days (really just one full day) in Prague and 2 days (also one full day but with more of a fuller second day) in Vienna where we fly back to JFK.

But that may seem too daunting so instead of doing that, thinking of booking roundtrip to Vienna, staying in the PH, and doing a flight in and out one day in Prague, if all goes well IYH that would be about 6 hours on the ground, before airport transportation and boarding time. All in all about 4 hours in prague with maybe marginal extra time. Is it worth 4 hours? My biggest to do item is to daven at the kevarim, and there are two cemeteries to get to, so is that enough time and is it going to be extremely tight or should that be enough time?

My thoughts are that the hotel matzav in prague is not really so nice it seems, even the king david (which seems like no park hyatt) doesn’t have suites and we have a baby so we really would like the extra space for his sleeping purposes. Vienna has a really nice hotel, and its a 50 minute flight which without luggage and really any carryons either, would be more like a fast bus then a whole travelling situation which is what it would be if we would spend a day changing locations in the middle of the trip from Prague to Vienna. Also its Chanukah so we are bound by being back around nightfall so we can light, and then most likely not getting to do anything after that because of the baby until morning. And Staying in vienna would allow for more time to see vienna as well as go to bratislava which is an hour away from the city.

I know it definitely is a unique idea especially considering the very limited time on the ground, however, my question is more or less is this sufficient to do the Jewish history aspect of Prague or do I really need a full day? Also, does the Jewish area give an overall feel for the city as a whole in terms of architecture, scenery, etc. or does it not really do its justice to the rest of the city?

Thanks for your opinions!

Not going to weigh in on the general plan because I would hate to spend so few hours on the ground, but there is a fast train from Prague<>Vienna that takes 4 hrs. Depending on where you're staying at in Vienna and where you want to end up in Prague, it might require less travel time to take that instead of a flight.

Yes I was thinking about taking it back, though I do not think it would actually come out faster considering we would basically be just walking onto the plane, I was thinking the whole thing would be about 2.5 hours each way. I was thinking about taking the train back as then I would have less pressure of time, and the train is in the jewish area. Hesitation is that the train is 4 hours of occupying a child

Family I know is in Prague overnight before continuing to fra-jfk tomorrow. Couldn't book kosher meals for their flight and have a short layover in FRA. Is there any place to still get kosher food there tonight?

Currently in Prague. Does anyone know what the kashrus situation is with 5th district by King Solomon. It's advertised as Glatt Kosher, but can't get a clear answer on the reliability of the place. Asked Chabad and they answered "not sure. Ask your lor" - not very reassuring... Has anyone heard of Rabbi Menashe Klement, the one supposedly providing the certification?

Also, anyone have more info on kashrus of Trdelnik? Apparently they are open on shabbos. Trying to establish the reliability of their kashrus.

Any help, pointers very appreciated. Thanks!
