Don't do it during rush hour (7-9:30 or 5:30-7:00) and you should be fine, logistically.

It also depends if your 8 month old already has discerning taste and will question why you wen from the PH to a Sheraton.
She'll be most upset by leaving Conrad BOB to go to Tokyo ;)
I will hold the Sheraton for 4 nights at this price and decide later.

PH or Andaz Wed-Fri
Sheraton Miyako Fri-Sun (going up in category next week).
Are there any solutions for getting the baby to chabbad for meals? or did you eat in the hotel with the fam?

AJK can be immature at times, but that seems extreme ;)

Ask the hotel or the shliach if there's someone you can hire.

Why people don't stay at the Conrad if Shabbes is out of the equation is a mystery to me. Such an amazing place and close to the amazing Fish market with consistently excellent service towards Diamonds.

Because Hyatt nights are easy to deal with and the PH and Andaz are phenomenal hotels?

I stayed at the Andaz (and loved it) during the week. It's a lot newer than the PH which is why I chose it. I didn't stay at the Conrad because I didn't have HH at the time and got a gift of Hyatt points.

In Sapporo proper, or in the sticks?

Because Hyatt nights are easy to deal with

If that is the very main reason, Fair enough. But if people are not dealing with free nights and points in either currency isn't the issue..

PH and Andaz are phenomenal hotels?

..So is the Conrad.

I used pocket wifi that we often received from the apartments that we were renting through Airbnb. It was very helpful for directions and train schedules. I don't know the supplier through. I know that you can pick up some of them at the airport.

Hello All,

I have a question. I have SPG and Marriot points. So, which is the best hotel to go to that is close to chabad in Tokyo, SPG or Marriott? Also, I have a week certificate at Marriott, I could use it or I could turn it in for points. So, if the SPG is far better than Marriot options close to Chabad I will either turn in my cert or maybe use it in Kobe (if there is one close to the shul in Kobe). TIA

Essentially, which is the best option SPG or Marriot in Tokyo close to chabad, and which hotel would that be? Also, is there a Marriott close to Kobe shul? TIA

Prince Sakura Tower near Shinagawa received good reviews and is a Marriott Autograph.  I would check the walk distance because it isn't as close as the Sheraton, but doable.

I think the only points option in Kobe is the Crowne Plaza, so it might be worth just biting the bullet on an airbnb.

In Tokyo I stayed at the Sheraton Miyako.
Stayed with the Rabbi in Kobe as a bochur.

Thx, the distance looks the same between the Sheraton and the Marriott, give or take a few minutes. Thx

Since the Sheraton went up a category in March (now a category 5, 12k SPG points a night), I would definitely go to the Prince Sakura (Marriott Cat 8, 40k Marriot points =~ 13.3k SPG points). Just stayed there two weeks ago. Beautiful hotel, much nicer than the Sheraton, and the rooms are much bigger too. From the Prince Sakura it was about a 20 minute walk, from the Sheraton it's a bit closer - 15 minutes. Note that the Sheraton still has mechanical keys (for Shabbat) if that's a factor for you.

In Kobe the Crowne Plaza is at the bottom of a *mountain* which you need to climb to reach the Chabad - I would stay at an airbnb, or one of the hotels that appears on the Kobe JCC website. They also have a room above the shul which might be available (that's where we stayed) - contact R' Shmulik to check availability.

We just got back from two weeks in Japan, and I hope to write up a TR over the next few weeks.

Anyone here stayed at both the PH and the HR in Tokyo?
I know its comparing a luxury car to a honda, but wondering if it will do considering I am not booking with a globalist account in either case.
