Exchange IHG Platinum status for status on Mariott or SPG

Hi,

Not sure if that's allowed here. As a newly minted spire elite on IHG I can gift platinum to a friend. I know that SPG has a similar option.

So, if anyone is interested I'd like to do a trade, I'll gift you platinum on IHG and you give me status on Mariott or SPG

IHG platinum comes free with the CC which most people have due to the annual free night cert. IHG plat is also not worth much

I am SPG and Marriott Platinum since many years, do these 2 have an option to gift to someone? Did not think I can, but OP says SPG has this option.

There is a way to gift status but it's probably not worth it even if you're eligible.

True, I'm based in Asia so no easy status with any CCs for me.
