In my experience, you should just account for the fact that forehead/ear is about 2 degrees lower than under-tongue/rectal. Just compare to someone else's temperature and you can figure it out

Not very convenient. Especially if baby decides to relieve himself at that moment.
Or if the baby is a toddler who kicks and screams and refuses to cooperate
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Agreed but they have really fast ones that will give you a reading before the child knows what hit him.

I have one of those, but it only takes one time and then the child knows what's coming

Are you supposed to add 1 degree or something?

Just use a 5 second rectal with vasaline.
I have an Exergen and it's horrible. It's basically a scam. They advertise great accuracy, but that's for the $400 professional version.

Been pretty accurate for my child

I had the iproven until last week. I physically destroyed it in a rage after seeing wildly inaccurate numbers time and again when my whole family was sick.

That's how I feel right now  ;D
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Just read that the iproven is supposed to be used only for age 6 months and up :-[

I've been using it for a newborn...
