Well, there's a difference between being observant (keeping the letter of the law) and having your heart or mind compelling you to be observant.

I think being more emotional, women might have a stronger, emotional connection to the mitzvos. Also, education for women is often more general and includes more courses in Jewish philosophy. This is in contrast with male education, as many Yeshivos place more of an emphasis on the nitty-gritty of Jewish law.

How about following G-d’s laws?

Including laws and customs etc I'd say women are more observant and have an easier time BEING more observant as they have less laws.
That's my first thought. Though I'd have to think about it more really for a final answer.

Men have far more (positive. Meaning required to do certain things) religious obligations. Therefore it is easier for women to follow the letter of the law.

My observations..
women are usually more scrupulous, stemming from an emotional connection and very often will even make up laws because it feels more spritual or right (fairly often more is less). Men tend to be more scrupulous about the LETTER of the law, leading to sometimes being overly careful (to accommodate the possibilities of what the letter might be) and sometimes to be leinent.
Regarding telling others what the law is in a particular situation men are very often more leinent on others then themselves..

Observance is not the goal, it is the means to get to the goal.

Some of the obligations which are more geared to the women are much more straining on the woman than most of the ones which she is exempt from. An example is tznius especially covering the hair.

True.
Though I'd say in general in the orthodox world girls can be considered 'good girls' with much more leeway than boys can.

It depends on what sort of community you live in also. Whether it's modern, yeshivish, Chassidish etc

Rabbi Reisman says a lot, "a woman is only as frum as her husband wants her to be". Its part of a deeper shmuz about sacrifices for mitzvos that men have to do that women dont have

It does, but it is something he says to men and the context can make a big difference too. To women he may say that men are only as observant as their wives want them to be.

IMHO one cannot make generalizations. I've seen it go both ways in various families.

Which could explain:

It does, but it is something he says to men and the context can make a big difference too. To women he may say that men are only as observant as their wives want them to be.

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I do not know. You would need to ask his female congregants. It also may not apply as much the other direction for simply practical reasons.

I've heard it being said both ways. The Gemara seems to side with women having more influence over their husbands' level of observance
