It is not an easy or a stable career, lots of problems down the road once you are married or have a family. I was an airline pilot for 2 major US airlines that do not exist today , right now the airlines are doing good , when the economy goes bad, they start laying off pilots left and right, and they go out of business , remember Braniff, Eastern, Pan Am , TWA and I can name another 20 or 30 easily.
Plus if you develop any medical issues your career is over . Also flying for commuter airlines pays very little, just like working at a minimum pay job, and very few from there make it to the majors. The majors prefer to hire pilots from the air force, navy etc , not pilots flying Cessna 172.

Great to have an in-house pilot, now we can start our own thread like this one - http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=12749.0 :)

Which 2 airlines did you fly for and which aircraft?
