Pop's got a double parking ticket in NYC-any advice?

One idea I am thinking of is the fact that color of the car is - IMO- red, not brown, yet on the hand-written ticket it says 'BRWN'--is that a dismiss'able mistake, if at all?

That won't be considered a dismissable defect, and they won't dismiss it on those grounds.

I was going to post this but 1) its over 10 years old, and (more importantly) 2) its essentially inaccurate.

First, the administrative law judge will not even look at this, let alone consider it, in evaluating guilt. Second, the law on it is wrong. For instance, the pdf shows that body type is a dismissible defect. It isn't. I've tried it, failed.

But if you do try and fight it that way and win, i'd love to hear about it.

I just saw a computer ticket on this car and the color is marked RD - so a mistake it is.

Also, the back door was open and he was unloading material - perhaps the receipt of that material can help?

It's illegal? You're kidding, right? You can get a ticket for double parking in NY? (I'm not even going to address the "chilul Hashem" bit.)

The OP is asking if there is an arguable defense to a double parking ticket. Repeating that it's illegal doesn't help much IMHO.

But, OP, there is at least one defense to double parking: dropping off or picking up passengers.

His post implied that he was going to try to fight it with a defense of unloading, which is allowed in a no standing zone. I was just saying that it is an invalid defense for a double parking ticket, as being double parked is illegal even if unloading. I apologize if my post was unclear

I am surprised no one has piped up with this yet.

Once you decide that you are most probably going to have to pay this ticket you can request a hearing, before accepting it you will be offer a reduced amount to pay....Less money for Bloomberg

Color mistake won't help you, guaranteed.
Unloading excuse will not help you al pi teva with any judge.
I've won parking tickets in the past without the ticket being defective though, with real excuses and backup.
My only advice is, if you lose, do not even bother appealing.
