If I could, I would go back in time and make copywriting/patenting things illegal. Maybe even without going back in time, I would, make a universal law that in 50 years all copywriting will be illegal.

Is that a stupid idea?

That eventually you would get everything that people pay for now, for free. For example Linux OS was made by volunteers.

I do want people to create and invent things. But from passion not because they are getting paid to. It's a much slower way, but I think eventually people would end up with the same things that we have now.
