Hey all,
So I'm looking to go Business from JFK>HKG March 5, return about a week later but that return needs to be flexible. Probably Cathay Pacific. I'm an Exec Platinum on AA and would like to remain so for next year.
Anyways, I was talking to a friend of mine who suggested a way to earn AA EQMs & EQDs without booking the ticket (entirely) in cash. Wanted to know if anyone had experience with this.
The process he suggested goes like this:
- Look for business class award availability
- Book a coach ticket, in cash, for that flight.
- Transfer in Asia Miles
- Use those miles to upgrade the ticket to business class
So was wondering if anyone has ever done this, and if you earn the same EQD's / EQM's as if you booked it as a cash business class ticket.
Thanks so much in advance!
