I've dealt with people who had the opposite reasoning. It was a Jew who didn't want a transfusion from a non-jew. I worked on convincing her that there was no reason for it in halacha. I am told that there were chassidic rebbes who did not want due to the spiritual tainting from someone who ate non-kosher food.
