I hadn't heard that they added it to Whole Foods. That's huge for just a family that wants to shop (you know, normal people not us).

You are getting better return, and if you use Amazon/while foods enough that you'd get the Amazon card for it, then it may be worth it.
comfortability is also worth something

Definitely true, depends on everyone's feelings, there is no universal answer

It comes down to what you value more -  5UR's or $0.05.

Not really what you value more, rather how much more you value UR.

Some people redeem URs for statement credits @ $0.01 in which case a UR would not have a greater value.  In that instance, going the IP/IC to GC to AMZ/WF route wouldn't be as lucrative and would only be advisable if you had excess capacity on an IP/IC and didn't want a new account hit, INQ etc

Well someone that brings comfortability into a discussion very well might be one of them :D  In all reality lots of people just redeem URs for statement credits being happy with 5% cash back on utilities and office supplies.

Chase Ink Cash to buy Amazon and Whole Foods GCs.
My online account shows that I still get 5X at office supply stores on my Ink preferred. Has this changed for new cards? Seems a bit strange that the no-fee Ink Cash has a higher reward rate than the paid card....?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

To answer the second part, it has different earning categories, like the Plat costs $550 yet doesn't ears 6% in groceries like the $95 BP does.

Can someone who has been banned from Chase get this card? Also is there any difference between the other amazon prime cards?

The Synchrony Bank Amazon Prime card is a store card.  The Chase Amazon Prime Card is a Visa.  The 10% back at Whole Foods during Prime Day is specifically linked to the Visa product.

is there a logic to get the synchrony card instead of the chase one so as 'not to use up a chase slot'?
(or is that an amex concept)?

Definitely is logic, if you'll be using the card a lot/churning CL, that may get chase nervous.
And it will effect the overall credit you have with Chase. Besides IMO it's always best to keep as much as you can away from Chase.
Just be warned that Synchrony isn't known for high CLs.

I spend alot on Amazon but buying large amounts of GC in advance at office supply stores seems impractical for me. Aside from buying GC with an Ink, does any other card come close to 5% at Amazon?

Can I convert an existing Chase card to an Amazon to avoid it counting for 5/24?

Amazon card does not count towards 5/24

I think you mean that you can get it past 5/24.
It likely does count though (unless you get the Amex biz)
