PSA: Long term apartment rentals in Israel - Broker fee
« on: February 21, 2018, 01:22:53 PM »
At the end of 2017 the new rental law went into effect whereby brokers can not bill the renter a brokers fee if he was working on behalf of the landlord. If your agent is demanding an agent fee and they are known to be working on behalf of the landlord you do not have to pay, the landlord must pay. Don't let the agent helo the landlord take you for a ride!

Additionally tenants aren't required to pay for any improvements to the apartment or to the infrastructure serving the apartment other than operational management and overhead. If your Vaad Bayit is super high and they are using the money for capital improvements tell the Vaad Bayit to contact the landlord for payment.
