Discussing this with friends..
I get the idea that it's nice to exchange but I don't feel bad when people deliver a mishloach manot and I have nothing to give them in return.

I always say thank you, comment on their generosity, shmooze and wish them a happy Purim and I honestly don't think either of us walks away feeling akward or bad.

Others were saying how they have to give to all their neighbors, people in the community and make sure to have enough for everyone who may bring them.

Seems like so much pressure and so insincere.

I think it can be insulting to not return to someone who gave you. Obviously it depends on your relationship with the person

Would you feel insulted if you gave someone and they we're grateful, happy to see you but didn't return anything?

It's not that I don't get it a little but to the extent people feel bad, pressured etc ... I don't get that.

I don't think I would. But it's hard to say, as I don't have experience with it. But I definitely do understand if someone would.

From a WhatsApp group I'm on:

I actually love the Oholei Torah Crown Heights Achdus Baskets. Also has a great Auto-reciprocate feature.

For anyone that delivers in person, we have plenty of our own, as well as plenty of junk received begging to be recycled.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

There is nothing better than when you run out of your pre-made shaloch manos and someone unexpected comes to your door and you scramble to the table to throw whatever you can into a shopping bag. "Oh, hold on, I have one for your too!"
