Monopoly Deal Card Game Master Thread
« on: April 08, 2018, 12:08:41 PM »
Do you play with any house rules when it comes to monopoly deal?

Because the original rules make the game results too random and require no skill, almost anyone I play with makes up rules that lengthen the game too long. I wish it would be quicker while also allowing for skill.

For example, they’ll play with  4 or 5 sets, holding sets for 1 turn, no stealing wild cards, etc.
Anyone with good house rules?

We make it even quicker by requiring you to put down money and properties as soon as you get them, and not counting that as an action.

So what counts as an action then? Just the actual action cards?

Everything that's not money or a property.

We make it even quicker

I usually try to make the game go a bit longer when playing with just my wife, so we make it that you need 4 or 5 sets to win

For monopoly deal, if a player is paying with property or action card, do those have to go directly to your bank as money, or can the property go into your property and can the action card be later used as an action?

Also, does the monopoly just say no card have to be put down prior to use, or can it be in your hand and taken out when you want to use it against a player?

Proporty always stays as property.

Your money pile always stays money even if there is an action card in it.

Just say no can be played any time, and has no limit. If you played 3 actions, and someone uses a just say no, you can in turn play a just say no even if it seems like a 4th action.

Juat say no can be played any time.

Placing an action card into money pile renders the action card useless for the given action for the remainder of the game?
