Does a ticket booked with travel bank credit earn miles, PQM, PQD etc. just like a cash booked ticket?

If I book a friend using my travel bank, can he earn FF miles on his own account?

No. Travelbank only works for United metal, but you can book a United flight with TB and then cancel for future flight credit, which can then be used for any flight bookable on United.com

let me see if i understand fully:
i want to go to ey. i got 800$ of TB credit.
if i book a random united flight that i found to cleveland for as close to 800$ i can find (found one for 792$) and then cancel that booking, i can then turn around and use the future flight credit for any booking on united?

ETA: i realize i can also just find a ticket for slightly above 800$ so i can use up all my credit, bc anyways a ticket to ey will be more than 800

so im not here to debunk you, bc if you've done it in the past i cant deny that.
what i CAN say is i booked a flight using my travel bank credit, cancelled the flight shortly thereafter, waited 2 days, and the credit returned to the travel bank :(
maybe i did something wrong, but it didnt seem to work for me..

You have to cancel after 24 hours in order to get FFC, and not back to TB, iirc.

Cancel for free within 24 hours of booking
This ticket is nonrefundable, and a fee may apply for changes. View the full fare rules.

Refundable means the original form of payment. Non refundable MAY be eligible for flight credit, depending on the ticket conditions.

Some airlines have a 'cancellation fee' that could be $50 or even $100.  That won't be refunded even to you flight credit.

For expiring credits:
Is the expiration date the "fly by" date or the "purchase by" date?
