This is the first I'm ever hearing that there's a Chabad minority opinion that holds you don't go by the place where you are.

I have a family member that wrote a safer on the subject.
Can you please show us more on whose opinion this is and where ?

My Rov told me who to call, but thanks for playing.
I had gotten the same psak from Rav Ashkenazi in the past.[ Invalid YouTube link ]

I wonder what those same Rabbonim would have answered if the question would have been phrased "could I keep 2 days Yom Tov" rather than "do I need to keep two days".
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

The question was how many days should be held as a member of Chabad anash.

I know of Lubavitchers that avoid EY on YT, but those that are here in EY almost all do one day.

Pardon my ignorance.
But why is this somthing that you'd need to ask a Ruv ?
Is this not clear cut ? The Rav holds you go by the place where you are. No ?

I can't get over that you honestly believe that it's better to be chayav in two days yuntif. Again, what one should do when traveling to EY is a halachik shailah, but to think that two days yuntif is lechatchila is mind boggling

We don't do everything that it says in Shulchan Aruch Harav.

But hasn't this been the מנהג  practiced during the Rebbes time ?
The Rebee didn't give הערות on this ?

I am no Rov or Posek. But I would do anything possible in order to have as much Yom Tov as possible. I really feel bad for people that have abbreviated Yomim Toivim.
I was always had a nothing more nothing less mentality. But hashkafically it makes sense to say that you're right, like we find by tosafos shabbos.

Just something to keep in mind.
YT = Derabanan
Tefillan = Deoraissa
True. I remember vaguely hearing something about this. Something like that tefillin is only posheya begufo if someone never wears it as opposed to missing a single day, so that makes it a mitzva on the gavra...  Although it's very likely I'm mixing bodem mit klutz.

The Rebbe said to ask your Rov. He was not a posek.

With such בקיאות in ירושלמי, I am sure you must also be familiar with the Rambam that holds that one should keep two days in most places in Eretz Yisroel nowadays.

The question was how many days should be held as a member of Chabad anash.
Very well phrased, and I am aware that most Lubavitcher Rabbonim in Eretz Yisroel would say to keep one day. That being said, I am pretty sure that if those same Rabbonim were asked the question in a way that indicates that the person asking is seeking a psak that they need to keep two days, they would point such person to a Rov that holds that way, and wouldn't consider that person as one who is מבטל מצוות עשה דאורייתא of הנחת תפילין.

I know of Lubavitchers that avoid EY on YT, but those that are here in EY almost all do one day.
I am not questioning or doubting this. It is an accurate portrayal of facts.

There Rebbe has told different people different things, some in a more clear way and some in a more indirect way.
In the Sefer נתיבים בשדה השליחות Rabbi Raskin gives a very good overview of the different answers the Rebbe gave to people as well as things mentioned at public gatherings and basically explains most of the seemingly conflicting answers of the Rebbe as well as parts of Shulchan Aruch Harav as each referring to different situations.

The police showed up on Sunday night to a meal I was attending (I keep one day) in regards to a noise complaint
After stating that we can be fined bla bla..
Both officer's started screaming at me (assuming I keep 2 days as well)"how can you go to shul tomorrow and not wear tfillin"  ;D
"You're in Israel and here it's not chag"

AFAIK from a Halachic standpoint the Rambam is a דעת יחיד.

Isn't it beautiful that one can pick which Rov to ask in order to get the answer one wants to get.

My son, I guess taking after his father, chose to spend Shavuos in Tzfas where he could spend 2 days Yom Tov without being the only one doing so. (Though several years ago I must have been the only person keeping 2nd day where I was stuck for Shavuos).
From the way the conversation continues it sounds like you are actually advocating picking who to ask based on their answer.

I sure hope nobody is taking halachic advice from a forum post.

That's what we have Israeli police officers for.  ;D
