Air Canada or alternative CC suggestion?

Hello DDF FAMILY,

I'll be flying out fro LAX and EWR to Montreal (YUL) a lot moving forward and it seems like most flights are Air Canada.

I'm looking into getting an Air Canada CC. But I wanted to reach out to the DDF Family if anyone has any other CC suggestions for someone in my position.

This question is much broader than the credit card itself and would probably be better off asked in "Up in the Air".

In general you are probably better off with the flexibility of a card which earns UR and bonus points for travel unless the card is giving you extra benefits on the airline. You may be able to get that for the AC flights using the UA cards and booking using the UA codeshare.

Miles, free trips over time. Like I mentioned, I'll be flying to Montreal a lot coming up and I want to gain free trips from it over time. I have a Chase Sapphire Reserve but I'm not sure if that's the best setup.

If that is your goal then go for the Chase trifecta. UR are much more flexible. Maybe a Chase United explorer for expanded award availability.
