Why does a potentially good book discredit itself by loading itself up with gossip?

If she can stop after describing the abuse, it would have been a great book. Continuing and bashing every aspect of the orthodox lifestyle is not only hurtful, but brings her back to the naive world she claims to have left. She thinks, and keeps on portraying, that she is now smart and knows whats going on, yet she obviously has not yet conceived that it is every setting - not just the ultra orthodox - that breads dysfunction in some way or other.

Thus, fuming against our beliefs (that we are the chosen nation, that we miracles happen, and what not) serves only as this insight: Judy Brown had a hard upbringing which she has yet to overcome. I am certain that in a few years from now she will not only regret the loads of bad she tucked into to that little good, but also her loose of dignity by enslaving herself and her beliefs that there is greener grass on the other side.
