Did 2/3bms every 60 for years.

When did that gravy train stop? What's the word on Citi 2/3BMs these days, can you do then every 6 months? 12 months? 18 months?

You mean every 60 days.
They were indeed the easiest, and no Recon required, but those fun days are long gone.
I did toast to them in my Cathay supplied designer pajamas with 30 year old single malt as I was flying in my First Class suite on Cathay Pacific though.
can we still churn every 60 days with citi?

After years of FT members rubbing Citi's face in it. The same as the Mint. Then they wonder why some of us don't post anymore.

Something like '05-'10 I would guesstimate for AA cards before the Citi crackdown slowed things down.

So you're saying it ended around 2010? What's your current MO/recommended wait with Citi/AA churns? People are recommending waiting 18-24 months and I have a hunch that it works at closer intervals.

I need a little advice.  I am pretty experienced with Chase recon at this point but I have never dealt with Citibank's recon, and due to my 2bm for the AA Amex and Hilton HHonors card being denied, I now have to deal with them.

They denied the AA card because I already have one (it is a Visa).  Has anyone ever argued that the Visa and Amex have totally different uses to get around this?  And if so did you get the signup bonus on the new card?

The HHonors was declined due to multiple applications for credit at the same time (meaning 2bm).  Can citi recon be swayed to approve this app (as I've done with Chase several times) or will it be a hardline no?

The only open account I have with Citi is the AA Visa, so presumably if I want to move credit it will have to come from this card.  I was planning on arguing that the AA Amex and Visa have different protections and can be used at different places, and I was going to say I want the HHonors card because it has no annual fee and I want the ability to accumulate hotel points without another annual fee.

What say you DDers?

citi (since the 75/100K promo) is not allowing more than one AA (bonus). very unlikely that the "visa/amex" argument will work.

The strangest thing just happened.  I got the email from citi on Jan 12 telling me they denied both my apps.  When I checked my mail today, there was my brand new Hilton HHonors card!  I have no idea why I got a denial letter but I'm holding a new card in my hand with my name on it so I guess the denial was wrong lol.  So now I only have to fight to get that 50k bonus on the AA Amex.....I'm actually quite nervous I won't be able to swing it but who knows.

I applied for both, and after arguing, received both with a CL adjustment to my other Citi accounts.
Here is a summary of what happened.

I was told by a Citi CSR that Citi no longer allows shifting credit from one card to the next.

I want to shift credit from a Citi Amex to a Citi Visa Business card.

Is this futile, or should I try writing to them?

Such a difference between recon depts. Chase, is such a pleasure to deal with, and Citi are so stubborn.
They denied me because of limited time credit history, which is 8 months, I have been approved a couple of Chase and amex. But they are saying they dont approve less than a minimum of a year of history. Did anyone here get approved under a year? I called a few times, should I keep on calling?

Did a 3BM for Citi AA Visa, Amex, and TY Preferred. Got approved for TY and AA Visa. Called them to reconsider the Amex app, but they claim that since it was declined because of multiple applications, that means it was automatically rejected and there is nothing they can do. Anyone get approved after being declined for this reason, or should I give up?
