Many people have also had better luck writing to the office of the President for reconsideration on Citi cards:

I applied for aadvantage executive, got declined, huca'd atleast 10 times, they're telling me it's a systematic decline from the credit bureau, being I have no revolving debt and too many inquiries (I applied for 1 amex, 3 chase at the same time) and being that's the reason for decline they can't reconsider... And nothing they can do, the reps claim the only things is if there's incorrect info on the credit report I can correct it and reapply and they'll do another pull..

Call the executive department

Applied for a Citi card last night. Got the 7-10 message. Is this pretty much an instant decline?

Here's the message I received. "Thank you for your Citi ThankYou® Premier Card application. We're still reviewing it. Depending on how quickly we're able to process your information, we may post a decision here in 24 hours, so feel free to check back then. We'll be in touch in approximately 7-10 days via mail or email with a decision."

Received this message for the Premier today.  I have perfect credit (15 year+ history, 0 late payments, never carry a balance), but no cards with Citi in the last few years.  Not a churner, only a card or two over 5/24. The only possible factors I can think of: I'm in Israel and applied while connected to a VPN and I have a high reported utilization at the moment (something like 8-9% of total credit) as I haven't yet paid my balances.

Has anyone been approved after receiving this message?  Called once to the application status hotline and was asked where I applied from (told the truth) and verified personal info to be told to continue to wait for the e-mail/letter.  Called the official recon number after and was put on hold for a few minutes while they tried to push it through only to be told to wait again for a call/e-mail/letter within a week and that "nothing was wrong, we just need more time to review."  Any hope?

Update: Approved!  It was a fraud alert, as suspected.

So don't despair if you get the 7-10 day message from Citi!  It isn't necessarily a 4506-T request  ;D

Not a hard rule (unless recently changed) but its extremely common. More common if you don't have much of a relationship with Citi yet

3-4 months ago, wasn't approved in the end. But that reason fell off the denial letters after recon.
Most recent approval was longer than that

Was approved for Citi Business with less than 5 years history.
But I have a personal card with them, so this might the reason.

More common if you don't have much of a relationship with Citi yet

just applied for the Premier card and got the "7-10 days" message. called up the regular recon line, and they said that all it was, was that they needed to verify was me, and confirm that I applied for, and approved me right away. seems like that's policy across the board
WHY NOT?!?!

What's citi's regular reconsideration #?  Got the same message and think it's also just a fraud alert.

CITI is driving me nuts.
Does anyone have a direct reconsideration number for Business cards?
Also, did anyone ever hear of this? They are telling me that they can't re-evaluate until I receive the declination letter in the mail.
