A collection just showed up on my report... apparently I owe National Grid $155 from 2 years ago. If I pay the collection company will it automatically fall off my report? Is  there something else I need to do? It took my score down from 800 to 700 :(
TIA
It won't fall off unless the collection agency requests it be removed.
If you had paid before they reported it, generally right when it goes to collections then they usually won't report then

Could you explain please, if I caring the balance that is less than 30% of the total credit line (yes i always try to keep under 10% but you understand that if I need to use the 0%apr is that I have to) so what could affect my score besides ratio of the 30% ?
Thanks

Keep in mind that FICO calculates overall utilization, individual utilization and also the number of cards with a balance.

FICO is less sensitive the higher your AAOA.

For anyone interested, this is a good thread over on Credit Boards about different FICO scoring factors: https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=497484

Although Bob Wang no longer posts on CB, his threads are still full of valuable information.

Who is bob wang?

A credit genius who knows more about FICO than probably anyone outside of FICO. Read some of his threads on Credit Boards, and check out the link I posted for example.

Parking tickets appear to be pretty easy to get off reports nowadays because they were not consumer credit transactions.

Have a dispute with ADT security services.
they claim they will put my account up for collections, do they have the ability to damage my credit?
also, any data points how to get rid of their services without paying hefty cancellation fees?

Yes they can ruin your credit.

Find a way that they have violated their end of the contract and exploit that seam

Have 2 Amex au & one chase au which reported on my cr. They’re affecting my age of credit & 5/24. What would be the fastest and easiest way to get them off? On the experian app there is an option to dispute, should I use that or there’s a faster / easier option.?

It will, not long term.
he was asking if it will hurt for paying only the minimum, for this the answer is no.

Of course carrying high balances will hurt.

So the answer is yes, what was no to?
Depends if you have a high balance on this card , and no or low balance on other cards that have reasonably high credit limits, then, no, it is about overall credit utilization.
