The Amex Mercedes-Benz Plat has been discontinued. All former MP Plat card have been converted into regular Amex Platinums.

The Amex Mercedes-Benz Plat has all the same benefits as the Amex Plat.

Differences:
Annual fee is $495 $475 instead of $450
$100 Worthless gift certificate for in dealership overpriced tchotchkas from Mercedes-Benz
Link (You cannot use the Certificate online)
(Edit from ae123: Overpriced yes, but not worthless....watches, travel mugs, ice bags, caps, etc.)
You can get a $200 reimbursement for some airline spends, once every calender year.
Global Entry $100 Fee Credit - Global Entry is the US government’s expedited immigration program for frequent travelers. It costs $100 and is good for 5 years.

Did anyone get this card?
I am get an MB and the dealer said I can put 15k on a card. I don't think I am going to wait around to get the card.
Maybe we can work something out.

Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised because i usually never get an instant approval, but both these were approved on the spot. Also they for some reason overnighted them both to me so i applied sunday evening and had 'em by this morning :)

When did you hear this?  I cancelled my Amex Plat ~2-3 months ago and got 100% of my fee back (I do have other AMEXes open), so anything beyond that is untrue.

AFAIK that's only if you have no other AMEX cards and refuse to downgrade.

They had hats jackets, thermal coffee cups, sweatshirts, keychains, a usb jump drive.... etc etc. They took the cert with no issues and i picked up a few things. Total i paid was $.74!! :)

+1 You actually have to hand over the certificate to them with your signature, so i don't think online purcases would work
