I got 4 tickets in NJ speeding, reckless driving, dangerous tun and another one totaling $570. I have a CT license, so A does anyone know if the points transfer? B does anyone have a good attorney, since I spoke to 1 that would give me a bargain instead of $1200 she would charge me $750 because she went to school with my brother-in-law, ridiculous.
i believe it does not for ct-nj

Just wondering in anyone here would know what the Lakewood court would do for a ticket for - not yielding for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Its a 2 point ticket with a $54 fine. I'm wondering if its worth to go to court to plea bargain, and what would they change it to?

I got pulled over at the exact same spot too !! For going 85 in a 65 MPH zone (this was right before they changed the turnpike speed limit to 70MPH).

Wow, that's a lot of money  :(
I took the advice of a Jewish truck driver (from NY) I know well. He advised me to just pay the ticket as soon as it get into the system. That way you somehow don't get points on your license. (I have know idea if this is actually true or not. I just know it worked out for me) I called the Newton falls court house about five times a day for three days right after I received my ticket. I paid my $200 fine immediately over the phone. I have checked my licence a couple of times since then. No points! AFAIK.

Points will not transfer from OH to NY on a regular license, however they will go on the national registry of a CDL (commercial/trucking) license. It had nothing to do with paying right away, and everything to do with not forgetting about it/ getting suspended for it.

So many questions in this thread. Most traffic ticket attorneys offer free consultations. Just google then and call them. (but get to the point, don't chew their ear off:))

Every area has a different threshold of when the cops start stopping you. The Palisades in NJ is 70 M.P.H. 69 is kosher, 71 and they hit you. I87 depends on the area you are driving through, but for most of the way (without a work zone) 75 is ok, at 80 you are pushing it. I have heard, (and practiced) that up to 80 on the OH turnpike  is ok, over 80 and they are all over you. Very well deployed they are in OH!

The moral of the story is? When you come to a Town, don't break all the laws before you know what they expect of you. If the sign says 50, try it out once or twice and save yourself the headache.
