If you're referring to R&F

We got an awesome sofa from Raymour and Flannigan, has held up pretty good.

Don't get the "Platinum Protection" garbage they try to push on you, it's a known scam.

I got a couch and a lazyboy, from La-Z-Boy. Both excellent, and come with lifetime warranty on the mechanics (not the cushions).

What mechanics does a (non-sleeper) sofa have? Footrests that you can pop up?

Almost my entire apartment is IKEA. I used wood glue at every joint and everything is still solid. It even survived a move!

IKEA is great. Cheap, and looks good for a long time. Don't expect that it will hold up if you move it around (though you can be lucky, just don't count on it) but if you don't expect to move it then I'd highly recommend.

R&F is expensive stuff. I really like their solid wood frame furniture (bed frames, dressers, desks, etc) but I've only ever bought them second hand on craigslist- at 10% of the retail cost and in nearly perfect condition - and they've held up for 10+ years so far.  The folks who buy this stuff new tend to live in nice neighborhoods and get rid of it when they redecorate - not when it's ruined.

That had nothing to do with couches, sorry. I wouldn't buy those second hand (upholstery is different from wood). I got mine at a department store back when those were a thing, paid a lot, but still using them, so I have no other experience to share. Except that everyone says to buy Natuzzi  ::)
I'm an optimist; but only because life isn't going to give me any other good choices.

Correct.

My R&F doesn't have those, but really doesn't need 'em. It's bad comfortable leaning your back on the tall-ish arm/side and putting your feet up on the sofa. And the sofa is long and deep enough that DW and I (both ~5'10") could comfortably sit this way on opposite sides of the sofa facing each other.

How do you get the best deals on r&f sofas?

And what's more worth it - fabric or  faux leather sofas?

Pleather if you want easy to clean, but fabric if you want to be comfortable sitting on them. Plastic gets hot and uncomfortable fast

What's better - r&f or Ashley sofas?
Quality and service wise
