Bloomberg.com: Prime Grill Mediocre, Le Marais Rocks.
« on: September 06, 2011, 10:23:30 PM »
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-08-31/prime-grill-s-82-steak-is-kosher-mediocre-le-marais-rocks-ryan-sutton.html

I'd have to agree.  I keep going back to Le Marais (and sister restaurant Clubhouse across the street) but don't have much of a desire to hit up TPG again.

Your thoughts?

And as a bonus, Le Marais is one of the less-expensive high-end restaurants.

While i do like Le marais better than prime grill, i did enjoy Solo (TPG's sister restaurant) even more, albeit a more expensive option than Le marais

Agreed.  Nothing can beat their burger/fries with an "off-the menu" passion fruit caiparinha on the side.

Its also nice that clubhouse is know for not carding to buy alcohol. Actually I don't think I've been carded since I was 16, its amazing what a beard can do :)

Why is it off the menu? What else is there thats off the menu that we don't know about (and is worth trying)?

It's a drink I had all the time in Brazil, but they just have the original Caiparinha on the menu.  In Brazil they make it mixed with all kinds of fruits.

TPG-Tuesday night DELMONICO STEAK... probably the best steak I have ever had.
The pepper steak at le marais isnt terrible but its always a little dry for my taste.

of course abigails blackened ribeye steak with the jack daniels sauce is what I would fly to NYC for.

The Delmonico steak TPG is great but the Delmonico at LA CARNE GRILL ( owned by the brother of TPG owner) is just unbelievable. It is by far the best steak I ever had.
