I need to book an AA flight on BA miles for tonight (the flight is departing in 6 hs. from now...)
When searching for this ticket online the following takes place:
First of all, the calendar does consider today as a valid date to choose from.
Second, besides for this usual message "British Airways does not fly all or part of this route. Your options are:
Select another route
Include our partners in the availability search" I also get the following message "Sorry, we are unable to accept bookings for this date. Please select a new date from the calendar."
Then I click on "include partners" and voila! the flight for today does come up as an option (didn't try to finalize the booking, because I don't know if the system will allow it but the ticket still won't end up getting booked).
Called BA and the rep. says they need 24 hrs. to book with miles (she said it as a general rule, I didn't even specify that the flight was on AA, it could have been on BA for all she knew).
I don't just trust what a BA agent says, especially when the system shows otherwise (so far), so does anyone know the real answer to this?
PS. I do remember once trying to change the date of a ticket that was leaving on that same day and I wanted to change it for the next day, and they didn't let me.
