Exactly. This kind of attitude says "ואס וייסט א א"י" so we just will pretend that they are stupid and everything they say about safety goes out the window.We should be able to take experts recommendations seriously and put proper safeguards in place even if we can't keep to every thing they say.

Take a step back and see what's actually required and what's not. Eliminate the extras, and keep the actual requirements and be diligent.

Example,  perhaps shabbos candles don't need to burn 3-4+ hours, especially on a late yom tov second day.

That is not what I was trying to say. I was saying that we should take their expertise and knowledge seriously and therefore even if we can't abide exactly by their recommendations, figure out how to put more safeguards in place that we are able to do. Don't just dismiss them. Leitzanus achas....
