Yeah kind of getting out of hand these days... We're becoming a rediculously superstitious group of people, quite alarming to watch how this " R' yeshayala of kerestir " phenomenon is exploding.. he's apparently the new version of R' shimon bar yochai or wtvr.. thousands of people flying across the world to his kever, full page ads if him wherever you go.. not sure if it's just simple minded people or it's some money making scheme by some marketing group.. but it's very disturbing on many levels.

I have heard that the family is also very unhappy.

the main point of a segula is to remind us that Hashem is charge and that we should daven to Him. It's not some sort of shortcut that tricks God into giving us free stuff. Don't abandon the ikur and rely solely on the taful

BTW I heard a few places that mention the Shabbos after pesach (Shlissel chala/Shabbos Gele Matzos) as being auspicious for parnasa. The simplest pshat I heard is that that's when the Man started falling.

Before ushadude answers, I would be very interested in knowing how you understand it currently. What is the point of the segula? E.g. Hshem wants our challah to look a certain way, or the key has special powers?

Any segulah that comes with a men/friends getaway, good food and you can claim it's purely Ruchnios will always sell good. Granted, there are plenty amazing factual stories of people who had yeshuas there, but a good trip al taharas hakodesh will always draw lots of people, same with Meron. Good to keep in mind when you become concerned that we have become to superstitious.

Who is "the family" and what say do they have over it? AFAIK many of his einiklach are cashing in on this popularity, look no further than the two competing entities in Kerestir trying to deliver the most Lavish hospitalities to draw the visitors.
