I actually haven't noticed the issue in a few months. I wonder if it depends on the season.

I have heard that smell and soap scum buildup in front loaders depends also on the type of detergent that is used.
I think powder detergent is much better in that regard.
Any data points on that?

We have been using Miele front loader with gel pods. No signs of buildup. Mb European water temperatures prevent it? Just a theory. We also had gasket mold, had to change it and now we leave it open- no problem.

correct, as noted above:

IIUC they are combining the washer and dryer capacities (technically you can have 9.3 cu. ft of laundry processing at the same time)

i am in the market for a new washing machine, anyone have any recommendations? i tried looking online but just overwhelmed by the options and choices.

Any have a specific recomendation?

reviews seam good. Keep in mind that if you need to do a lot of loads this won’t work. Each load is about two hours or more. So three loads is basically a whole day.

isn't a washer + dryer almost 2 hrs anyway. I assume most can use 2 of these.

We're looking to get a new washing machine.
We have a 6kg machine we got used when we got married, and now with a bunch of kids and limited time... Its time for a new one.
What size do people usualy get here? 9kg? 12?
What brands are popular? (i.e. fixable by handy people one out of achrayut, and parts are available)

I can get it for more than 2000 shekel less than that store (in the 4200-4400 range) but this is the only one that had a nice compact link - how do you do those hidden links anyway?
Am i overpaying for something I dont need? I.e. is it too big?
Will it raise my water bill on a regular load (read smaller) ?

It's actually a great machine, it just doesn't give out clean clothes
