Without knowing for certain, I'd venture that he said that public Tehillim recital is not consonant with שמחת יו"ט which is a position that is very consistent with Halachah. To the unlettered, that can easily be rendered into "it's not kavod yom tov" and Rabbi Berkovics is made to look foolish.

I was talking about the tehillim betzibbur (pubic Tehillim recital), line by line, that we started on Shemini Atzeres and said every day including Shabbos, Chanukah, Purim... until Pesach. (The collection of Avinu Malkeinus were only said when it was a regular weekday, but not on Rosh Chodesh, Chanukah, Purim, and Shabbos. We also said three kapitlach during the week but only one or two on Shabbos.) You think I don't say tehillim? You think he doesn't either? Someone asked why and I answered. I don't see what the problem is here.

I'm not sure why you're excited. I'm with you all the way. I'm sure everyone says Tehillim, you, him, and everyone else. You posted a reason allegedly given by Rabbi Berkovics why he discontinued public recital on YT and that was challenged, to which I stated that if we didn't hear his reasoning firsthand, we don't actually know what he said, but that there's strong support for not saying it publicly on YT.
In my shul, the rav ruled that we should recite Tehillim on Shabbos and YT, but not publicly line-by-line. Instead the chazzan starts the kapital and everyone says it quietly. It's all good. Everyone should do as their Rabbi instructs them.
