I'm not sure, but it seems it's only been a month or two.

It's always been in the T&Cs/fine print that offers are for first time cardholders etc., now they added it in bold letters on the app.

I did an app for MB Plat with the warning, and I had 1 in the past year. If in 2 weeks no one reports success, s/o please remind me and I'll tell you if I got Pts., (I always get the pts right after I complete spending, even b4 statement).

I went there and used my MB voucher. Eddie was the guy behind the counter. Was very nice to me.
BTW, if I already cancelled my Amex card and only afterwords used the voucher, will the voucher "bounce" somehow?

thanx for the reminder, i didn't yet. But a friend who had an MB Plat got the 50k, even though it clearly stated on the app 1 time a year.

Well, I think the real question is, if you got the FIRST card after the "1 time per year" rule, and then got a second card, not if you had the first card before the rule, because it's possible that they are only counting cards that came after the rule...

the rule isn't once a year, it is "Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months.", if you think it's only for 2 times since the rule went on the main page in big print, IMHO it's not a rational worry, I believe it's paranoia. Honestly.

Not sure why you think this is irrational/paranoia
Banks are beginning to crack down on churners (citi is barely churnable now and just a few years it was one of the easiest churns out there). Why would Amex go to the trouble of changing their apps if they're not gonna implement anything?
Hopefully I'm wrong (and so far it appears I am, but this certainly a legit concern)
