i have a dual passport if i put one on flight reservation would i need to go in with the same passport to that country or i could i use the second passport that was not on flight reservation both are good visa wise just the second passport i can go with express border control and not need to wait in line?

I don't know of any discussion of it on DDF, but I'm fairly certain that it's not possible, even if your Canadian account is in USD. AFAIK you gotta get a USD account at a US bank to pay a CC.

If you're really desperate maybe you can send your US credit card a USD check from a USD account at a Canadian bank, but I would not be surprised if a US bank refuses to accept checks that draw on a bank outside the US to pay your cc. They take forever to clear, and there could be other issues.

The good news is that there are easy ways for Canadians to get a US bank account. TD (USA, through TD Canada) and RBC both have options.

Based on your question, I’m assuming you mean that you have CAD in your Canadian bank account, not USD.

Wise charges ~1%, and there are other companies that charge less if you transfer enough to make it worth paying wire transfer fees.

If you have a TD Canadian account I’m pretty sure there is a way to transfer to TD US account without a fee.

Correct, if you're already holding USD in a TD Canada USD account. Doesn't help you in exchanging CAD to USD though, which is what I assume OP meant when he said it costs 2-3%.
