What? are you for real??? Did no one read the resolution they signed on?I do.
Didn't some countries state it was rejected because it did not include a statement about the innocent civilians in Gaza being killed? Look I am wore out trying to point out the other side which I disagree with. You all should watch news that you know is anti-Israel to try at least to understand their point even when it is wrong.
I didn't read it but I am not obsessed with the UN. If you want to post a link, I will read it.
After operative paragraph 1, Canada wanted to insert the following paragraph: "Unequivocally rejects and condemns the terrorist attacks by Hamas that took place in Israel starting on 7 October 2023 and the taking of hostages, demands the safety, well-being and humane treatment of the hostages in compliance with international law, and calls for their immediate and unconditional release;"This wasn't simply rejected; it was applauded. Think about that. They applauded a rejection to demanding humane treatment for hostages. Here's a direct link to the resolution: https://documents-dds-ny.un.org/doc/UNDOC/LTD/N23/319/20/PDF/N2331920.pdf
How about a metric that favors no one?If you want voting rights, you must earn it. For instance, if you are involved in a conflict, you don't get to vote or condemn other conflicts. Except, if you have the UN's backing. YES, that includes the USA and Israel. And so on for every issue. You can't violate something yourself and condemn others at the same time. It's absurd. How does Russia get to vote on a resolution calling for immediate truce in Gaza while being at war with another country? (that the UN itself has condemned) This is moronic.I don't think ANYONE, including those who are on the Palestinian side, think that the UN is anything but a political show.

What do you say to the person who voted against it because it didn't also mention the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza? In congress there will probably be a vote for aid for Israel that some will vote against. Does the reason matter why they will vote against it?
Israel has already been condemned for that countless times, the one time almost everyone can agree that Hamas needs to be condemned they shoot it down and cheer while doing so.Pathetic
You wanted that to pass?
This is the resolution that DID in fact pass.
Yes and no way with or without the addition would I have voted for it. Would you have?
But please explain...

Is he wrong?
I can think of some that are probably worse.
UN human rights official quits over "genocide" in Gaza and blames the WestFrom CNN's Richard RothA United Nations human rights official is leaving his job over what he calls a "genocide" in Gaza that the UN has failed to stop.Craig Mokhiber, the director of the UN's New York Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, said in a letter that Gaza is a textbook case of genocide. Mokhiber said he lived in Gaza working on human rights for the UN in the 90s.He accused the United States, the United Kingdom and European countries of giving political and diplomatic cover for Israel’s atrocities. In the letter, which began with a statement acknowledging it would be his last official communication in his position, Mokhiber wrote that after witnessing what happened in Rwanda, Bosnia, and to Rohingya civilians in Myanmar, the UN has repeatedly failed to stop genocide.“High Commissioner, we are failing again,” he added. The letter was sent to the UN’s human rights chief Volker Turk in Geneva. The UN Secretary-General press secretary said Mokhiber is retiring as of Tuesday.
