Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

bumping and restating slightly

Delta offers their Mileage Booster offer on each leg, $29 for 1000 miles, $44 for 2000, $59 for 3000. Normally these should be ignored, but it seems like an eligible expense for the $50 statement credit. Assuming that the I'm not using this card for everyday expenses and I'm just looking to meet my thresholds for the mileage bonuses, does it make sense to splurge for $9 on 3118 miles? Or $68 on 6,236 (assuming I've done the math right)?

I have a question that you guys can hopefully help me out with. Say I get approved for a British Airways Chase card with a cl of 500/month, is there any way of reaching the spending requirement for the bonus within the timeframe that it requires?

The minimum credit limit for that card is 5 grand. Hypothetically if you would get the $500 limit you could pay it off as you charge to reach the threshold.

-1 I just helped someone apply for it (who didn't know what to do himself...) and he got a $2000 limit.

IIRC Chase does not like you artificially raising your credit limit

Does Delta Saver Award (for JFK-TLV) open up closer to the actual date?
Or if I don't see now, for May, I should look elsewhere?

There is no official wait time to get the bonus again.

1) Are you talking about Barclays? Are you in New York? I think it's TransUnion most places (CMIIW)
2) No

I saw that too, but wasn't sure if he meant Barclays US Airways card, or something else that I haven't heard of.
