Hey. I have a nice amount of water in my crawl space. I’m going to need to get a French drain installed (as per the waterproofers). Before I do that I’d like to try something else. Is there a way to get a non submersible sump pump that will have a hose run directly into a drain to drain the water that comes in? If anyone has done something like this please give me ideas.
I’m currently usin lg a small wet vac to clean this up.
Yes, I've done this. The sump will suck out water up to the last 1/2 inch or so, and send it wherever you point the garden hose. If the other end of the hose is a drain, make sure it has the capacity to drain water quickly or that you have a deep sink/tub, otherwise you could have overflow at the drain.
My set up was in the basement and I put the sump pump flat on the floor at the deepest point of the puddle. The hose pumped the water up and out through a basement window to the lawn (my nearest drain was too far). This was meant to be temporary, and it was. Eventually the float got stuck on some debris that floated into the puddle (space was unfinished) and the pump motor stayed on until it burned out.
