Frankly that is ridiculous.
Had you read the book i'd appreciate your view.
I certainly had a number of issues with the book, certain issues he oversimplified, others i found him to be illogical on.
But i read all 887 pages of the book (besides the 30 pages of essays from R'J.B.S) and i concluded that the book provides something essential and currently rare.
There are many open minded yeshivish people who would like to further understand the issues of Torah/Science, but find that anyone knowledgeable about science who is addresses these issues is either agenda driven, or building grandiloquent apologetics to appease Baale teshuvah. And when they hear the garden variety shmooze from their rebbe it is apparent that the arguments being used are overly simple and usually hail back to the 60's and are no longer scientifically viable. The "Torah-maada" Modox elements has skewed the issue by using what i call "red herring theology"; in essence they find singular Torah quotes and misread and twist them to fit their agenda instead of properly veiwing the overall context of the discussion, or the overwhelming majority opinion.
Rabbi Meiselman (you may have read disparaging critiques of his book, but he is a chashuve rosh yeshiva none the less) provides the single source i have encountered who takes both legitimate Torah sources and legitimate scientific sources and breaks them both down with clarity and precision. He presents each of the major rishonim's view on the subject with clarity, he tediously breaks down the Torah sources being abused by so many of the players in this field and highlights from a academic viewpoint what they almost certainly mean and how untenable the other readings are. He presents the scientific arguments fairly, always providing source matiriel and often all relevant text. So i therefore think this book is fantastic although imperfect!
But to come to such a strong stance from reading antagonistic vitriolic posts on some dude's blog taking excerpts out of context is pathetic (albeit fairly common in the shallow blogosphere).
Read the book, use your mind, don't accept everything he says as gospel truth. If you have an issue, look up the sources yourself. I promise you, you will gain tremendously.
