Transferring Amex MR points to another account

Is there away to transfer MR points from the account of one cardholder to the account of another cardholder? (Totally different people, with different addresses, etc.)

How can it be done?

The second account is my wife's, albeit her mailing address is still my in-laws' house. Would changing that help?

i just tranferred points to my husbands account (and i am a secondary cardholder)
i first call membership rewards and they said they cant do anything
then i called amex customer service to cancel my card and asked to transfer the points. he connected me to MR who did the transfer - they first spoke to my husband to make sure he let me be an authorized user on the account (which u can do online)
then they transferred it.
i was planning on cancelling the card anyways (and the rep would only offer me 7,500 to stay)

It's your call, I guess. I'd have taken it, or at least asked until when I have to keep the account open if I accept. Some people here have reported they were told they could accept the offer, hang up, and call right back to cancel.

AFAIK, as long as u end the call with the card still active, u get the bonus points offered. u couldve called right back to cancel.

Dan mentioned that you can by phone still transfer amex points to another persons account.  I did not have much luck a while ago.  Curious  if people have been successfully recently?

yes I know I have done that before

but Dan posted recently that you could transfer to another account without saying any more details or qualifications so I was curious if people are being successful doing this over the phone all the time, some of the time but so far I have not heard much except this method  AU and being charming
