I actually had similar issue with a brand new computer. It was  refurbished from Amazon. Turned out the seller used a really bad off-brand hard drive that was slowing it down. Where did you purchase yours from?

I am using windows 10 and all of a sudden my Bluetooth does not work. When I open "Bluetooth & other devices" from the setting menu, under all my Bluetooth devices it says that "Bluetooth is turned off." When I open device manager, I do not see any Bluetooth devices unless I select show hidden devices. A google search suggests uninstalling the Bluetooth driver but I have probably 25 items under Bluetooth. If that is my best bet, which one am I looking for? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

UPDATE: I saw a suggestion to turn off fast startup. It worked. From googling it seems that some drivers will not be fully updated when when fast-start is ticked on. Interestingly, however, if you choose "restart," instead of "shut down," windows will more fully shut down, and any new driver updates WILL then be properly reinstalled. (This is in contrast to most peoples intuition that a shutdown is more complete than a restart.)

UPDATE 2: Issue resurfaced after being resolved by ticking off fast start. I was able to correct by restarting but it seems that there is some underlying issue causing Bluetooth to turn off. Any suggestions?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

had some issues with my PC, apps like calc/timer was blank, kept on getting errors when trying to delete "file is open in com surrogate reddit"

I did a clean Windows install, and lo behold, calc is still blank. Why is this?

Same issue with many MS apps, like Store, Timer, photos etc

Before and after clean install

(With the disclaimer that I probably can't help, I'm jus intrigued by the issue)

Did you try dark mode in the app as mentioned uptrend?
Is your computer run by a network admin like a locked work computer or something?
Is the computer refurbished at all?
Do you have an antivirus program, and which?
Have you updated all the drivers etc after the new install?

And of course an install from a memory stick is a good idea, as mentioned by moshe

100 disk all the time means that either the hard drive is dying/damaged or that you have a virus. If you tried a clean install that means the hard drive is a problem. See if its under warranty. But even if its not, the price for a new one is not expensive.

malwarebytes. but i believe that since you did a fresh install then it must be the hard drive.
as an aside. a good 2-4% of hard drives are faulty even as new... so this isnt crazy...
is the computer under warranty?

I saw statistics that 6% of new hard drives fail within six months - a higher level than the 1% that fail between six months and two years.

So if its sitting around a few years its almost certainly the hard drive.

Anyhow now that i know its not a virus, what should i do ? repair it somehow or its not worth it ?
And would upgrading it to windows 11 maybe reinstall something correctly and fix itself ?
