I can almost give those ratings myself on different visits. First thing to know is that the service is probably the worst I've ever experienced. And the owner keeps running around trying to help everyone because he knows it's bad. I'm not sure where he went to hire such unqualified people, but they are so bad it's a talent.

Second you have to use reverse psychology when ordering. The stuff that sounds good isnt, the stuff that doesn't sound good is. It's a messed up place, but it is possible to walk out with a 7 experience
A big +1
This post describes my exact feelings for this place
But tonight was a better experience
Thanks Yuneeq tried all your  suggestions  still only a 4

On the other Hand I went to felafel hatemani in the bucharim Shuk ( off of yechezkel )
For the felafel in a fresh Malawah it was heavenly  a solid 8

Also I'm currently working on rating the restaurants I frequent ( or not )
I am doing a lot  research ( and tasting )  :)

I've never seen any other restaurant in the world get opinions ranging from a 1 to a 9.
I have to try this place myself one day.

Next time you come, it'll be my treat. ;)

Updated the wiki.

Instead of having a long, long wiki, I table-ized it to have restaurants and activities side by side. I would like for there to be a border but I don't know how to yet.

A step in the right direction?

Funny you should say that. I've tried to replicate it many times, but never got it right.

Funny you should say that. I've tried to replicate it many times, but never got it right.

Does this recipe make sense?
Ingredients:
2 cans corn;
2 onions;
tbsp oil;
400 ml coconut milk;
3 tbsp fish sauce;
1tsp rice vinegar;
1/2  lt water

Method:
Dice onions. Heat oil and stir in onions. Roast until golden. Add half of the corn, half of the coconut milk and water. Mash onions and corn. Pour in rest of the coconut milk and rest of the corn. Bring soup to boil. Season with fish sauce and rice vinegar.

Found it here. It's missing the noodles though, and it has fish sauce :o, though that may be the secret ingredient ::)

Start there, and read a few dozen posts (ignore the ones in the middle about about the shwarma places) - it gets really interesting...

Does this recipe make sense?

I haven't had it for over a year now, but I don't think it has rice vinegar. Also, IIRC theirs has some kind of thickening agent (cornstarch, potatoes?).

Anybody with a good recommendation for Sabich in Tel Aviv ?
I hear so much about it & there's plenty of places too that make it
So any suggestions would help

For those of u that don't know what it is.
Its A pita stuffed with fried eggplant, hard-boiled eggs, hummus, tahini, Israeli salad, amba (a spicy pickled mango paste), and parsley.  Some places even include a potato.  It was invented by Iraqi Jews who fled anti-Semitic violence in the 1940s and 1950s
:) Smile & G-d will give u a reason to smile
