I don't think this will be successful. The only real use I can think of is for watching movies. Who's going to spend likely a fortune to watch movies when they are perfectly happy with the current screens.
Who likes to have something sitting on their face? And keep in mind this is a device for a single person.
My Tapatalk notifications don't always work.

$3500
Think of 10 years when they have the vision in lenses form and everyone wears them all day. Who needs to buy nice clothes? Just wear and undershirt and sweatpants but everyone will see you wearing a suit

No one wants to pay for a computer when you can just go to the library to get the same information faster!

Why not? That’s exactly what what most of the world does with their smartphones.

I see he mentions meta had something. Didn't Google also have something like this, Google glass maybe it was called? What happened with those?

There's no comparison. This isn't something that goes in your pocket or that you already wear (like a watch). This is something that takes over your face. And as of now, it's not very portable. So it's a replacement for a desktop monitor that gives a 3D AR experience.

Exactly, when computers started, people said it's pointless, libraries are better.

Now we know better.

This is first gen tech, which can lead to everyone wearing contact lenses instead of smartphones in the future.

And I wouldn't be surprised if in 30 years from know people laugh at when everyone said no one will use VR/AR.

I was never in that camp (though I do recall telling people that a 40mb hard drive is all they will need - which was probably true for that generation of computers).

Wearing something so big on your face (or contact lenses in your eyes) is a HUGE leap which I think many won't take. If it were much smaller like Google glass, then I would be on board, but at the current design/dimesions I just don't see much of a practical use for it, other than gamers or a replacement for Zoom meetings.

You posted something that said move on.

That is saying move on from getting bigger than 40mb HDD because no one needs bigger.

This is how technology advances. One step at a time.

People arent seeing the bigger picture here. There was a twitter thread breaking down some of the dozens of patents on this device essentially having your pupils indicate an action you were planning on taking (ie clicking a mouse) and doing it in advance. of that. The future isnt a wearable screen, its a computer that is essentially reading your brain and taking actions based on eye movement, pulse, etc. eliminating mouse and keyboard...

I find it interesting that none of the people within the ad, people the person was speaking with or taking a photo of, were wearing the headset....
