What time did they start? When Shlomo Shor said it was about to start at 8:20, was that the scheduled time or actual start time? If former, it's even more mind blowing for me.
Hefkervelt is giving some updates, but I was hoping there would end up being a livestream...https://hefkervelt.blogspot.com/2022/06/adirei-hatorah-event-today-info.html
Adirei Hatorah shul Buses leaving from BlueClaws stadium 5:30 pm doors open at 6:15 pm reception 6:30 food will be served program begins 7:45 pm. (Hitching spots for rides on roads leading to 195)Weather Philly: Showers and Heavy T storms.
What time did this event start? Do people from Lakewood not go to bed until well after midnight? Is that the norm there? Even if I lived somewhat nearby, I don't think I would attend as I can't imagine getting into bed so late (1am? 2am?..), especially on a Sunday night. It would kill my entire week.
It might kill your week, but it will make your life!(Please excuse this. My marketing team is at the event leaving me stuck here to try to concoct my own profound lines...)
Great line but 1. I'll probably miss a few/most of my morning sedarim this week (starts at 5am) 2. I possibly will miss my night chabura (finish at 9:30pm) once or twice this week 3. I work for a company. Would seriously wonder if purposely being up late, which will likely cut my output by 25% the rest of the week is allowed halachakly. Of course I could take a day off but that creates a new set of problems.
Nice event, good dancing and singing, but got bored during endless Yiddish speeches. R’ Waxman was great as usual.
Amazed me as well. As a chassid, this felt super heimish. It's ימות המשיח that the litvaks like this better. Same as the learning in chassidish yeshivos going the other way. Now, for Sefardim I understand. We're very different.
Sephardic
Where were the Litvaks? Where did they come from?
Hahaha. You really want to derail this thread? 10% from Lithuania. The rest are Hungarian, Galician and Polish who somehow landed to become litvaks.
I guarantee you those are not litvaks.
I don't think people realize the extent to which the heimishe crowd has infiltrated (for lack of a better word) the litvishe yeshiva system
You have it all wrong. It is how the Yeshiva system influenced the heimeshe crowd. It started with the Zeirei.
i think its a light into the beautiful place we are today as a klalwere the lines between us are much much less defined and everyone benefits from each others ways
Til next week when we'll have 2 TAG events in Prudential...
-1 having two makes sure everyone is included although i do think most chassidisha women don't have an issue with English but just in case i guess
Oh. That's absolutely not the reason there are 2.
