http://patch.com/new-york/new-york-city/ride-share-service-gett-announces-gett-together-manhattan-commutersGett, a ride-hailing alternative to companies like Uber and Lyft, announced a new service called "Gett Together" Tuesday. This service will give Manhattan commuters a more convenient and comfortable alternative to the subway by offering them $3 direct rides that never surge.
Gett Together will be free from Nov. 15 to Dec. 4. Starting Dec. 5, it will cost $3 per ride, although the charges will never surge. Commuters can order Gett Together rides Monday through Friday from 7-10 a.m. and 5-8 p.m. along the East and West Side of Manhattan.
Riders can be picked up and dropped off anywhere on the Gett Together set route during commuting hours. Drivers travel on the same set routes every morning and evening so riders know exactly where they're going, and they'll share their ride with other Gett commuters.
Morning routes will take commuters downtown from the Upper East Side and Upper West Side and will take commuters uptown from the East Village. In the evening, Gett Together drivers will bring New Yorkers home on similar lines. Riders can see exact routes by opening up the Gett app and dragging their pickup location to East Manhattan between 6th St. & 96th St. or West Manhattan between 50th St & 96th St.
