check-in for s/o else

My close friend is cutting it close to a LOT flight outta JFK tomorrow
If she can't make it for the 45min checkin deadline, will it help if someone is there to check in for her?
I'm not sure if they'll give the boarding pass to s/o else. Anyone know?

Someone else may be able to check in for her using the kiosks (if they have) at the airport... but not sure how the baggage (if any) would work.

She's coming on a flight (sep tkt) from a different city. Trying to SDC her but its a busy route and erev xmas.
LO doesn't have kiosks (hopefully they have computers...)
It would help even if she won't be able to take her luggage.
Would an agent give s/o else her boarding pass?

And BTW, there is no such thing as 'erev xmas'....the combination of the two words are 'shreklach' :P

Good question. If you're checked in, the only issue is your bags...not sure if the cutoff applies to that but sometimes the agents go to the gate and if there is no one there to take the bags....maybe someone else has experience...

on elal even after c online check in you have to go check-in to get the actual BP. On DL u have to go to an airport kiosk. I'm assuming you're saying LO doesn't do that & gives the BP online?

check in time is usually 30 min before minimum. and dont come a minute late or ull end up with a problem
