Personally, I wish I could find more flagship-featured devices in smaller sizes. All the smaller screen options are considered low-to-mid-tier, and have lower quality cameras and less memory for example. Why can't the mini options just be smaller versions of the flagship?
For me? I went the Galaxy Victory. Its an S3-class device, uses the same processor and battery. But the battery actually lasts longer because of the smaller 4" screen, and since there are less pixels to pump out (despite having the same pixel density of the flagships) the benchmarks are higher than the One X and S3. Basically, the CPU/GPU don't have to work as hard, same with the battery. You get something smaller, fits and can be used in one hand and easily in tiny pockets, and has better graphics benchmarks and battery life.
If it weren't for hokey plastic looking body, limited memory and mediocre camera, this device would be a dream come true for me.
At the same time, I guess I shouldn't complain. The S3 (because it was and still is so popular) fetches a good $150+ used. The Victory, despite being the same class in performance, is only worth about $45 on ebay. I like that because it also makes it easily replaced (I've got kids and Sprint's TEP changes make insurance no longer worthwhile).
I was looking forward to the S5 launch announcement to see if they would finally care to address devices for the rest of us who aren't interested in competing for screen size. I wasn't really expecting anything, but I was hoping. I'll see how the s5 mini specs fare when they are released, I guess. *sigh*
