I have been told there are a different set of rules for Israel so why should the US be worried.

I do think it is possible for two things to be true at once. America can stand up for something that is true, and America can do that (in part) because it is self-serving

No one said it wasn't true. The problem it seems the default is self-serving and not because it is the right thing to do.

All 7 of these hostages were killed on 10/7 AFAIK.

We were told that long ago, for example Shani Louk's remains that were found, the girl that was paraded naked through the cheering streets of Gaza City on 10/7, was confirmed dead long ago after the IDF found a bone from her skull.

39 more hostages are confirmed dead and held by Hamas. Around 100 are thought to be alive.
