Let's be serious for a minute. You really think people watch FOX to get the real news?
I hadn’t realized his ratings were so dismal.
Generally people are watching FOX because they want people to reinforce to them what they already believe in. (The same is true of people who watch CNN and MSNBC, of course, only the audience is split among a larger selection of cable stations.) Because of this unfortunate truth the echo chambers on each side get narrower and narrower in a vicious cycle. Chris Wallace is a great journalist but people don’t want fair, they want what feels good AKA their preconceived beliefs.
That’s the unfortunate reason we aren’t heading towards more fair and unbiased news sources, only further and louder echoing. We blame the media but it isn’t really their fault, it’s the public that is choosing to listen to only those they agree with. They’re just giving their viewers what they want.
