Ive never been Scuba Diving before, but I would like to avoid paying the astronomical fees the resort would charge me to train me as a first timer. What do you guys think of taking the course online?
I would do that in a second. Which online course are you looking at? The only reason why I'm not certified yet is that I've never been by a place with scuba diving for more than a couple of days, and most courses are at least 3 or 4 days.
My question is if I would feel comfortable actually Scuba Diving, if I never took a in-person course.
Definitely do an intro dive somewhere first.
Wouldn't some parts of the course still need to be done in person, or is there really an option to get certified without anything done in person?
Was thinking more along the lines of getting someone to just print a certification letter for me.. And obviously read whatever I could online.
I see and ya I agree with Aaaron and would definitely recommend doing an intro dive with someone first, to ensure that you're comfortable with it. I can't see how someone would be sure they're comfortable with what they're doing, without testing it out in person.
I hear that. I was just thinking maybe they would charge me less to just go down with a trainer, without doing their crash course. (And that would give me alot more in the actual water.)
Planning on going down with just someone signing for you with ever being in the water first? Stupid idea.
